Parent Consultations
Are you finding it difficult to manage your child’s emotional overwhelm or struggle to stay calm in the heat of the moment?
Parenting can feel overwhelming. There’s no handbook, yet there’s constant pressure to “get it right,” even when you’re overwhelmed or running on empty. Shame, guilt, or isolation can easily creep in, especially when it seems like everyone else is managing just fine.
At Emotionally Healthy Minds, we understand that behind every challenging moment is a child trying to express something—and a parent or carer doing their best to support them. That’s why we’ve created a consultation package to support you, whether you’re navigating emotional overwhelm at home or trying to access the right support for your child.

So many parents come to us feeling overwhelmed, exhausted and unsure of how to best support their child. You're not alone—and you don't have to figure it all out by yourself.
What we offer
We provide two specialist consultation strands to support you and your child:
Parenting Support & Emotional Wellbeing
If your child experiences anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or struggles to self-regulate, Sarah offers compassionate, practical guidance. Drawing on Emotion Coaching, neuroscience, and her experience in behaviour support, she helps parents understand their child’s emotional world and build a toolkit for calmer, more connected parenting.
SEN & EHCP Support
If you’re navigating a new or ongoing diagnosis, struggling with the EHCP process, or trying to ensure your child’s educational needs are properly supported, Ange brings clarity and strategy. With extensive experience in SEN support, she’ll help you understand your child’s rights, the EHCP journey, and how to advocate effectively within the system.

My family contacted Emotionally Healthy Minds around eight months ago when our daughter was having self-esteem issues and struggles expressing her emotions. She really enjoys her sessions and the difference in her has been incredible. She is calmer and happier and expresses how she is feeling with ease.
My husband and I also asked Sarah from EHM is she could provide us with some 1-2-1 coaching in order to support our children at home when they were experiencing times of stress and emotional dysregulation.
Sarah carried out these sessions in the comfort of our own home which made the whole experience feel relaxed and open. We have learnt so much from her and I can honestly say that our home life has become so much calmer with the support of EHM.
Thank you for your support and guidance!

Who is this for?
This package is ideal for parents and carers who are:
- Feeling emotionally drained or stuck in reactive cycles
- Unsure how to manage their child’s anxiety, meltdowns or behavioural challenges
- Wanting to better understand their child’s emotions, diagnoses or triggers
- Struggling to stay calm in the heat of the moment
- Navigating the EHCP process or in need of clarity around SEN provision
Why it works
Children aren’t born knowing how to regulate—they learn through us. But it’s hard to co-regulate when you’re constantly overwhelmed yourself. Similarly, navigating the SEN landscape or the EHCP process can feel isolating and confusing.
With expert support, everything starts to feel more manageable. You gain not only strategies, but also clarity, emotional resilience, and the confidence to advocate for your child effectively—at home, at school or within the wider educational system.
What's Included?
A 4–6 week bespoke package tailored to your family, which may include:
- Psychoeducation around emotional development and nervous system responses
- Strategies to stay calm and co-regulate during high-stress moments
- Tools to build safety, connection and trust
- Emotion Coaching techniques to help your child self-regulate
- Support understanding the EHCP process and educational rights
- Practical resources to guide you through family or school-based challenges
- A confidential space to reflect, reset and find your way forward

Who are the consultations for?
Any parent or carer who is feeling overwhelmed, unsure how to manage their child’s behaviour, or looking for support with emotional challenges, diagnoses, or the EHCP process. If you just need a safe space to talk and find a way forward—we’re here for you.
What topics can I discuss during the consultation?
You can discuss anything related to your child’s emotional health, learning challenges, behaviour, strategies for home support or your EHCP journey.
Who will I be working with?
You’ll be matched with the consultant best suited to your situation; either Ange (SEN & EHCP Consultant) or Sarah (Parenting Support & Emotional Wellbeing Consultant).
How do I know which consultant is right for me?
You don’t need to decide alone. We offer a free 20-minute enquiry call to talk through your current challenges and match you with the right support. Whether it’s emotional overwhelm or navigating SEN provision, we’ll provide you with the best consultant.
Why do you offer a 4–6 week consultation package?
Change doesn’t happen overnight—especially when emotions run high or the systems around your child feel overwhelming. Our 4–6 week package gives us time to get to know your family, share tools and strategies at a manageable pace, and support you as you begin to make real changes.
Can I book just one session instead of a full package?
Yes, one-off sessions are available, though many families benefit from the depth and continuity of the full 4–6 week package. During your free enquiry call, we’ll help you figure out what’s best for you.
Are consultations in-person or online?
Consultations can take place online or in person, depending on your location and preferences. We aim to be flexible and work around what suits your family best.
How long does a parent consultation last?
Consultations last 60 minutes.
